Adoscab Lotion is a stronger scabies formulation than our Permethrin-only options — it combines Permethrin 5% with Crotamiton, an ingredient specifically included for its anti-itch action alongside its own antiparasitic effect.
Key ingredients
- Permethrin 5% — a higher concentration than typically used in medicated soaps, killing scabies mites and their eggs by acting on their nervous system.
- Crotamiton 10% — provides itch relief while also having antiparasitic properties of its own.
- Cetrimide 1% — an antiseptic that helps prevent secondary infection.
What it’s used for
Permethrin-based treatments like this are used for scabies in adults and children from 2 months of age, and for lice, under medical guidance.
How it’s used
Applied to the skin following your doctor’s or pharmacist’s specific instructions — how much to apply, how long to leave it on, and whether to repeat treatment depends on your situation, not a general label. Using more than directed doesn’t clear the infestation faster and increases the chance of skin irritation.
When to see a doctor
See a doctor before use for infants, and again if itching continues more than 2–4 weeks after a full treatment course, or if the rash spreads. Household members may need treating together to prevent reinfection.
